Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Readmember, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service Description

Readmember is a reading highlights management application for physical book readers. It offers OCR-based highlight capture, AI-assisted categorization, spaced repetition review, and daily email digests.

3. Account

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
• One account per person. Credentials must not be shared with others.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must be at least 15 years old to use this service.

5. Payments & Subscriptions

• The Pro tier is billed monthly via Stripe.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
• 14-day refund policy: New Pro subscribers may request a full refund within 14 days of first payment, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive Article 9. To request a refund, email hello@readmember.com.
• Price changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before taking effect.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Scrape, copy, or redistribute the service or its underlying code.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or decompile any part of the service.
• Circumvent free tier limits through automated or manual means.
• Upload content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.
• Use the service on behalf of others without their consent.

7. Your Content

• You retain full ownership of your highlights, notes, and book data.
• By using the service, you grant Readmember a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
• This license terminates when you delete your account.

8. Intellectual Property

The Readmember name, logo, UI design, and underlying code are the intellectual property of Marko Lumbar. You may not use them without prior written permission.

9. Service Availability

The service is provided “as is” without warranty of uninterrupted availability. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime but do not guarantee it.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Slovenian law, Readmember's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the total amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time. Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with prior notice where reasonably possible.
• Upon termination, your license to use the service ends immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Koper, Slovenia.

13. Changes to These Terms

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before material changes to these Terms take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
